countdown relaxation
What do you practise? Do you practise being angry? Irritated? Anxious? Before moving on, watch this brilliant 2 minute video.
How about practising RELAXATION?
Deep relaxation can be achieved rapidly by practising the Countdown Relaxation technique. Listen to the 10-minute Countdown Relaxation audio recording below several times a day for a few days. Your brain will learn to associate the numbers with increasingly deep relaxation. As your brain deepens the connection with the numbers you, yourself, can simply count down out loud or mentally, from 10, down to 1 to achieve deeper and deeper relaxation. Like anything else, the more you practise, the more you benefit. You may also find the Countdown Relaxation a useful aid for a good night's sleep.
Do you ever choose the slowest checkout queue at the supermarket? Instead of getting anxious or irritated, practise the Countdown Relaxation technique. (And then you can be nice to the harassed checkout operator)
Stuck in a traffic jam? Use the Countdown Relaxation technique. (You'll feel better and drive safer)
Your date is late? Practise the Countdown Relaxation technique. (He/she may be impressed by your relaxed, calm demeanour)
Your son arrives home from school with tomato ketchup all over his new white shirt? Practise the Countdown Relaxation technique (and start the evening off with a smile)

And if you want to learn to relax even more deeply, and to seek calmness as your way in the world, then you may want to consider taking a course in meditation. Not only does meditation encourage relaxation, it also develops your intuition, your creativity, and your ability to access higher states of consciousness.
